Privacy Notice
Last updated 23 July 2026. This notice explains how EdgeLynks Ltd handles personal data under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
EdgeLynks Ltd (“EdgeLynks”, “we”, “us”) is a security-first technology studio registered in England & Wales (company number 17332163), registered office 49 High Street, Burnham-on-Crouch, Essex, CM0 8AG. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. Our ICO registration reference is ZC203643. You can contact us at support@edgelynks.com.
The personal data we hold, and why
We only hold personal data about the people and organisations we deal with directly:
| What we hold | Why | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Enquiry and contact-form details (name, email, phone, message) | To respond to your enquiry | Legitimate interests, or consent where you opt in |
| Client and business contact details | To provide our services and software and manage the relationship | Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Support and project correspondence | To deliver, support and improve our work | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Marketing emails, if you opt in | To share updates about our services and products | Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), withdrawable at any time |
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use automated decision-making or profiling.
Our software products
Some of our products — such as EdgeLynks ERP — are installed and run on your own systems (on-premises). The information you process in that software (your customers, suppliers, employees, invoices, tax figures and so on) stays on your systems and is never sent to or accessed by EdgeLynks. For that operational data you are the data controller, and EdgeLynks is not a processor of it. Where such software connects to third parties (for example HMRC for tax filing), it connects directly from your installation using credentials you provide.
Our website
When you use edgelynks.com or send us a message, we process the details you provide in order to respond. Our contact form uses an anti-spam check (Cloudflare Turnstile); Cloudflare processes limited technical data to confirm submissions are human, as described in Cloudflare’s privacy policy. We use only the cookies our site needs to function.
Who we share it with
We share personal data only where necessary: with service providers who help us run our business (for example email, hosting and accounting) under appropriate data-protection terms, or where required by law. We do not share your data with third parties for their own marketing.
How we protect it
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures, including access controls, encryption in transit (TLS) and encryption of stored credentials. In our software, third-party access tokens are stored encrypted and third-party sign-in passwords are never stored (authentication uses OAuth 2.0).
How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above — for the life of our relationship with you and a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, accounting and support obligations — then delete or anonymise it.
International transfers
We process personal data in the UK. If a provider processes data outside the UK, we ensure an adequate safeguard is in place (such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement).
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to our processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise a right, email support@edgelynks.com. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113), though we would ask that you contact us first so we can help.
Reporting a security or data concern
If you believe your data has been put at risk, please tell us immediately at support@edgelynks.comwith “Security” in the subject. We act on reportable personal-data breaches within 72 hours, in line with our incident-response process.
Changes
We may update this notice; the current version is always on this page. We will highlight any material changes.
